Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive Photo Tour ---A Must See!!

This is the main Park scenic road at the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore Park. The entrance is only 2 miles south of Duneswood. It is 7.4 miles and includes spectacular overlooks of Lake Michigan and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. For the bicycle enthusiast, there is a marked bicycle lane on this drive.


Stop #1, covered bridge	Overlooking Glen Lakes	Scenic overlook

Stop #3, The Dune Overlook. You can look out over Lake Michigan to the north and west. The Cottonwood hiking trail also starts from this stop



Stop #9, Lake Michigan Overlook. This overlook is the best place to see the uniqueness of these dunes perched 450 ft. above the Lake. They are the highest "perched dunes" in the United States
